A group of SMCARA members and guests gathered last Thursday night at the Golden Corral to celebrate the season and wrap up another successful year with the club. Everyone had a great time eating and chatting with fellow hams. We also had a few guests who are perspective hams so the group at our table did a good job of chatting about radio, offering the club’s assistance in getting their license and helping them get a station on the air.
Also during the dinner, we honored Tom Clarke, W4OKW with the President’s Award! I know I speak for the entire club when I say we appreciate Tom’s ongoing efforts to bring the 64 repeater back up to fully operational and back to its home location.
The club has a lot coming up in 2019 as we start the regular VE test sessions back up, a possible run at Winter Field Day and all the other normal activities that we participate in. So stay tuned as we roll out of 2018 and into 2019!
